Our Current LJEA Study & Development Initiatives

• Developing an improved website and launching an e-newsletter.
• Determining if we can help bring an annual “Kids in the Creek” field experience to school children in Burke and McDowell counties, patterned after the one in Haywood County.
• Developing an outreach program to help educate area students, developers and inspectors about factors that contribute to sediment pollution and best practices for preventing it.
• Determining if LJEA should create a program to monitor and help control invasive species of fish and marine plants affecting the lake.
• Determining how we might monitor the performance of package sewage treatment plants in the lake’s watershed.
• Determining how to approach noise pollution on the lake.
