LJEA Board Opposes Rescission of the U.S. Forest Service Roadless Rule.
On 8 September 2026, the Lake James Environmental Association (LJEA) Board of Directors adopted a resolution strongly opposing the rescission of the U.S. Forest Service Roadless Rule. Among their findings was that the proposed rescission would impact nearly 32,000 acres of the Lake James Watershed and cause direct, immediate, and significant harm to the watershed and to our communities as well as North Carolinians downstream who depend upon clean water provided by our forests.
