Wilderness Watershed Adventure: Exploring Environmental Science

LJEA is supporting the McDowell High School Wilderness Watershed Adventure Club throughout the summer. The club has had a number of events including adventures examining the wildlife and habitat in the Catawba River, canoeing at Lake James State Park, and an upcoming 3-day, 2-night camping and exploring trip along Lake James.

We are planning for another 3-day, 2-night event later in the summer open for high school students not in a WWA club. If you are interested in joining in this adventure, email: [email protected]

A week-long immersive, intergenerational camping experience for high school students in the Lake James Watershed
