These are the primary fish species in Lake James:

• Largemouth Bass
• Smallmouth Bass
• Blue Catfish
• Black Crappie
• White Crappie
• Walleye
• Bluegill
• White Bass
• Striped Bass
• Northern Pike
• Teiger Muskie

There are also Invasive Fish species in Lake James. These species include Spotted Bass, Blueback Herring, White Perch and Alewife. All of these species have been introduced in the last 8 years.
