Lake James Environmental Association is hosting a tour of two Habitat Enhancement Project sites at Fonta Flora County Park. Each site has benefited from improved forest management, erosion control, planting of native plant species, and the use of dead trees to control erosion and build wildlife habitat structures. These nature-based measures can be applied to many areas, including your own yard. In addition to benefiting the wildlife and human visitors to the Park, LJEA is planning to use the Park as a long-term environmental education site.
Come out and let our dedicated, recently graduated, college interns show and explain the many components of this project.
